Microneedling
Microneedling is a popular method suitable for treating many different skin problems. The treatment involves causing controlled damage to the skin to trigger the natural repair process. This speeds up the production of collagen, one of the skin’s most important proteins, and improves the structure and condition of the skin.
Information about Microneedling
Depending on the skin’s needs, 4-6 weeks apart.
How does microneedling work?
12 thin, disposable medical needles help to deliver restorative and nourishing serums into the skin. In a painless and effective way, thousands of micro-channels are created down into your skin for the needles to work in. The result is even, and because the channels are so minimal, pain is reduced to virtually non-existent levels.
When the small holes are created, the skin’s natural repair process starts and the skin itself improves its elasticity, radiance and condition.

For collagen production, at least three treatments are necessary, while scar reduction needs between three and six treatments. Four to six weeks should pass between one treatment and the next.
How long does a microneedling treatment take?
Usually a course of 3-6 treatments is needed, but it depends on the condition of the skin. Each individual treatment lasts about 60 minutes. We recommend undergoing treatment at intervals of 2-8 weeks. The time differs slightly depending on what your personal treatment plan says
Microneedling treats the following:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven skin tone and texture
- Pigmentation and sun damage
- Stretch marks
- Dull or tired-looking skin
- Mild skin laxity (loss of firmness)
What to expect after Microneedling
- Depending on the area of your face or body being treated and the type of device used (i.e. the length of the needle), the procedure is safe and in some cases virtually painless, feeling only a mild stinging sensation.
- Your practitioner will apply a topical anesthetic to your skin before treatment to reduce pain and discomfort.
- Your skin will turn pink or red in appearance, much like a sunburn, a couple of hours after treatment.
- Minor bleeding and bruising are possible depending on the length of the needle used and the number of times it is pressed over the treatment area.
- Your skin may feel warm, tight and itchy for a short time. This should subside in 12-48 hours.
